Our Very First Interview with Samriddi Pariyar
1. Samriddi, thank you for taking your time out for this interview. Now that you’ve gained so much fame from the show, let’s go back to the time when you applied for the show, what inspired you to take part in the Voice of Kids Nepal?
I, as an aspiring singer knew that I needed a platform that provides me with an opportunity to showcase my talent or rather, skills and get it recognized by a large group audience. Apart from that, I had understood the fact that networking is something I get to learn from forums like these. I got to know about this competition from one of my friends. Later my family members encouraged me to go for it. Initially, I hadn’t imagined the extent to which this platform would have impacted my life, but eventually, from setting a goal for myself to having this emotional attachment for the same, it all happened and I am glad that I got to experience all of these.
2. This journey of yours must have been interesting. Perhaps this was your first time performing in front of such a large mass. But apart from that, at what age did you practice singing?
I started to sing at the age of 2, I started to sing as soon as I learned how to speak. I sang for the first time on the stage at the age of 2 as well. I believe, probably because of my efforts in the past to sing in front of large groups of people, I easily coped up with the large crowd in this show too. Usually, we tend to call it ‘luck/ god gifted talent’ and fail to realize the fact that a lot of offstage ‘failure and getting up stronger ‘ is required.
3. What did you initially feel like when you started singing professionally?
It was kind of overwhelming, however, I slowly learned to get all of my priorities right and I am still learning. In due course of time, what I realized is that we tend to ignore one aspect of our lives while prioritizing some other too much.
4. That is very true. I believe all of our audience will be able to relate to it. Could you share one instance where that triggered you?
Managing time between singing and studies was extremely hard but now I’ve been giving equal priority to both singing as well as studies. Managing time was pretty hard at first but now I’ve adapted to it.
5. To what extent has the Voice of Kids changed impacted your life?
Being a part of the Voice of Kids has brought such a huge impact on my life. Performing on such a great stage in front of millions of audiences and being known for your talent have all been such great moments. It has changed my social life. People recognize me and come up to me asking if they can take pictures with me. The voice is such a great platform that allows us to be known by lots of people. It has helped in this musical journey of mine. Since people recognize me and call me for interviews. I also recorded songs.
6. What is the one thing from Voice of Kids that you will forever cherish?
Being loved and appreciated by the coaches as well as the audience motivates me a lot. My journey indeed ended early but the immense love I’ve been receiving ever after that makes me happy. I’ve won the hearts of millions of people so that’s what matters the most. Some people love me and I’m blessed. The Coaches are great singers of the music industry of Nepal and performing in front of them on top of that getting amazing comments from them will forever be in my heart.
7. What are your goals further down in your life?
My goals are super clear for me. I want to pursue a future in music and also give equal priorities to study as well as my other interests.
