Rising Cinema of Nepal.
The Nepali Cinema faced a huge hurdle in competing in the market with international movies, especially after the COVID-19 lockdown. The industry has been facing the problem ever since but the situation now seems to be moving in the favour of the industry.
The rising industry took a leap with the release of “Ae Mero Hajur 4”, Anmol K.C and Suhana Thapa's movie, which did a pretty good job by collecting Rs. 5.9 cr competing alongside the heavy collector, K.G.F 2. The marketing strategy of the Jharana Thapa-directed movie generally followed the agenda of nationalism and promoting one’s own cinema. Though the strategy seemed to fail in pre-release days, it worked pretty well during the release dates. Also, the natural beauty promoted by the movie was well appreciated by the critics.
A couple of months after the release of Ae Mero Hajur 4, Kabaddi 4, a Daya Hyan Rai and Miruna Magae's movie collected a massive amount of Rs. 21.37 cr in just a few weeks of its release. The star cast included Saugat Malla, Buddhi Tamang and Bijaya Baral who added an appealing feel to the movie. It is released as the continued part of the previous series of Kabaddi movies. This movie crossed various records and acted as the biggest blockbuster release in the industry so far.
The success of Kabaddi 4 shows the possibility of improvement in the Nepali film industry, leaving the viewers with high hopes. This shows that the audience highly supports good content and such content is much loved by them. With high hopes, people pray for good content after the success of this movie.
The industry is up with the release of Swastima Khadka's “Chiso Manche”. The movie is doing quite well according to the critics. Also, the trailer of the Pradeep Khadka's movie, “Prakash” is also receiving good responses.
Let's hope for good content in the coming future and support our rising Nepali Cinema Industry.
